This is an ornate and highly decorative map of the young United States, filled with detail. Texas has an enlarged panhandle, and Mexico occupies New Mexico. The steel engraved map features portraits of Washington and Franklin and three vignettes and fancy borders of the Tallis style: a buffalo hunt, treaty with the Indians, the Capitol and Washington's Monument in Baltimore, and two U.S. seals. Engraved by J. Rapkin. Color outline.
