This is a rare and very interesting map covering the vast largely Siberian region north and east of the Caspian Sea.  Modern day Kazakhstan and Russia, and several other ex-Soviet republics occupy much of the area today.  Part of the region is labeled Terra Incognita and the balance is filled with ancient place names. A large decorative title cartouche incorporates a vignette depicting the surrender of an army with weapons and shields above.
