This superb map is centered on the Atlantic Ocean and showing the route of J Stadens between Europe, Africa and South America. The map extends north to Florida, tsouthern Mexico, the Caribbean.  The map illustrates an early account of the New World published by Vander Aa, one of the most prolific compilers of information on the early explorations.   Topography, rivers, lakes, towns, etc are shown.  Phantom lakes are shown in northern South America and also in Africa.  A large cartouche shows dancing natives.
