This is a fascinating map showing the growth of Los Angeles over the years from the 1781 Grant, incorporation in 1850 to subsequent growth through 1935, with majorty of the growth occuring in the early part of the 20th Century. Most of this growth occurred through annexation and some through consolidation. The 83 changes in the city's geography are shown in the map, and referenced in a table that includes the date of change and the area effected (in acres and square miles). It was issued as an advertisement for CW Cook Surveyor. This is a seldom seen map, with only three other known copies of the Cook version -- all in Libraries.
